We had another great summer school group this year from around the globe at the Conservatoire. The main focus of our short course is contemporary ensemble work for advanced players from any genre. Drawing on Scottish music research, traditional repertoire and performance style the course finishes with a studio recording. It’s an intensive, ambitious course but lots of fun.

Jenn Butterworth and I were working together again this year with Innes Watson joining us for the final studio day.

Contact RCS Short Courses if you’re interested in taking part next year. We’re also launching the new BMus in Traditional Music and Traditional Music – Piping this September – more info here.
